Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada,
Pastor Ivan earned a degree in engineering from Dalhousie University (Halifax, N.S.), worked in this field for a number of years, and continues to be a member in good standing of the Association of
Professional Engineers and Geoscientists
of the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada.
Sensing a call from God to serve in full-time ministry, Pastor Ivan earned a Master of Divinity degree from Bethel Theological Seminary (St. Paul, MN). He has since completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from Covenant Theological Seminary (St. Louis, MO) and a certificate in Biblical Counseling from The Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (USA). He is an ordained minister in the Baptist General Conference, Converge.
Pastor Ivan and his wife, Kate, have one son, Samuel, and one daughter, Grace. Samuel lives with his wife, Brigita, in Minnesota while Grace is currently enjoying living in Canada. Pastor Ivan enjoys reading historical theology (especially the Puritans), studying mathematics, and kickboxing.

Pastor Joel Ostrom grew up at Quamba Baptist and after a time away, came back and began getting more and more involved in the church. The path led from team teaching a Sunday school class to serving as a deacon. Eventually the church called him as the associate pastor for prayer and devotion. Currently he teaches, preaches, and helps lead the service as needed. He is the husband of Michelle and the father of Joy, Karina, Julia, Sophia and Benjamin. Joel works full time in construction and loves to study.
Because of the special relationship QBC has with the Christian church in Northern Nigeria, Pastor Ivan wears the traditional clothing of the Hausa people on Easter Sunday.
