Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada,
Pastor Ivan earned a degree in engineering from Dalhousie University (Halifax, N.S.), worked in this field for a number of years, and continues to be a member in good standing of the Association of
Professional Engineers and Geoscientists
of the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada.
Sensing a call from God to serve in full-time ministry, Pastor Ivan earned a Master of Divinity degree from Bethel Theological Seminary (St. Paul, MN). He has since completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from Covenant Theological Seminary (St. Louis, MO) and a certificate in Biblical Counseling from The Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (USA). He is an ordained minister in the Baptist General Conference, Converge.
Pastor Ivan and his wife, Kate, have a married son who lives in CO and a daughter who lives in Canada. Pastor Ivan enjoys reading historical theology (especially the Puritans) and studying mathematics.

Pastor Joel Ostrom grew up at Quamba Baptist and serves as the associate pastor of prayer and devotion. He regularly leads prayer and music, teaches, as well as preaches. There are many areas that he, and his wife, Michelle serve within the church. They have been blessed to be the parents of 4 daughters, one son in law, and one son. Joel works full time as a Master Woodworker and loves to study.
Because of the special relationship QBC has with the Christian church in Northern Nigeria, Pastor Ivan wears the traditional clothing of the Hausa people on Easter Sunday.
